Made in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, this striking piece has a rounded, bulbous form with a short neck and gently flared rim.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003eheight 15 .5 cm , diam 15cm\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003eThe vase is finished in a wonderfully rich, mottled \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s2\"\u003ecobalt\/navy-blue glaze\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003e, providing a dramatic background for its colourful floral and fruit decoration. Vibrant reds, yellows, greens, creams and blues are combined with delicate black branches and foliage, with the decoration continuing around the body of the vase. This device was originally registered as a trademark by the predecessor firm Powell \u0026amp; Bishop in \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s2\"\u003e1876\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003e and continued to be used by subsequent partnerships.
