Mid century cream eggshell glaze with incised vertical red lines and dots elongated earthenware urn/vase. Designed by John Clappison in 1959 for the Studio Craft range.

in excellent condition, only very light crazing lines at the bottom of the vase (not visible from the outside).
This is one of the rare designs and colourway.
Hornsea pottery was started in 1948 in Hornsea, East Riding, Yorkshire and specialised in elegant novelty tableware.
John Clappison was one of the main designers for Hornsea studio and studied at the Royal college of Art. He was both a designer of ceramics and glass and later on worked for Royal Doulton.
