By being natural and sincere, one often can create revolutions without having sought them
Christian Dior
Christian Dior avenue Montaigne renovated shop 2022

The house of Dior reopened in March 2022 on the 7 floor hotel particulier at no 30 Avenue Montaigne originally built for a son of Napoleon in 1860. Christian Dior set up shop there in 1946- a year later he presented his first collection well known as “the New Look”.

The new spaces we can say live up to what Dior desired “My desire to create a house in my name. A house where everything would be new."

The new shop is light, airy, everything has it's place. The items sing on shelves that are carefully curated. In some spaces you even feel like you are in a home. As you walk in, your eye is immediately drawn to the stunning staircase.

Pietro Beccari, the current CEO of Dior wanted to bring everything under one roof- mingling past present and future . The idea of a the museum, the shop, the haute couture atelier, high jewellery atelier and also a restaurant and apartment are what became  a reality.

Peter Marino was the store architect - the third reincarnation he created for the shop : deconstructivist design with "18eme" door and windows and 18th c parquet de Versailles ”. If you visit make sure you look everywhere- from the floors to the ceilings.

Dior's favourite flower was the rose so you cannot miss the monumental rose by sculptor Isa Genzken as you climb the staircase.  It is several meters heigh.

Walking in the shop you know that every little detail has been thought of and it is to be everything Dior loved and aspired to.

The internal gardens were designed in collaboration with landscape architect Peter Wirtz are really beautiful and give the space a lived in feel. There are also amazing bouquets of fresh flowers displayed everywhere in the store.
