the Sloop inn is one of Cornwall’s oldest pub dating from around 1312- a place where fishermen would congregate. It has beautiful views on the beach and harbour.
Gerald French studied at Bradford College of art with Davi Hockney. He sketched Hockney several times too. He liked painting portraits, landscapes and abstracts.
His work was featured in a Royal Academy show in London, and at the Yorkshire Artists’ Exhibition in Leeds City Art Gallery 1965. His work also featured in solo exhibitions and at other exhibitions in Bradford at Cartwright Hall, and in Wakefield. His work features in the the Hepworth ijnWakefield, Bradford museums and galleries, Abbot Hall and Caldergare Metropolitan Borough Council.
