The most amazing shells- the sheen on them is incredible. The turbo marmoratus is also known as the pearly green turban shell is a marine gastropod. It's got a thick calcareous operculum in the family Turbinidae (turban snail).
These pieces would have been prized possessions and the fact of their size quite rare.
Turbo shells are polished to reveal the amazing layer of mother of pearl. You can see in the base the remanent of the original green outer coat.
condition- in good condition- each shell has its own identity. One of the smaller ones has a whole visible on the photographs.

how do you know this item is special?
I have been working in the Art and Antiques field for more than 30 years. I have a BA/Masters degree in Art History from the Ecole du Louvre in Paris and Oxford University and worked with a high end dealer in London for many years as well as a display of Art firm.
