The most amazing shells- the sheen on them is incredible. The turbo marmoratus is also known as the pearly green turban shell is a marine gastropod. It's got a thick calcareous operculum in the family Turbinidae (turban snail).
These pieces would have been prized possessions and the fact of their size quite rare.
Turbo shells are polished to reveal the amazing layer of mother of pearl. You can see in the base the remanent of the original green outer coat.
condition- in good condition- each shell has its own identity. One of the smaller ones has a hole visible on the photographs.
