Monet, a prominent American costume jewellery brand, traces its roots back nearly a century. Founded in the late 1920s as Monocraft Products Company by brothers Michael and Jay Chernow in Providence, Rhode Island, the company initially produced gold- and silver-plated monograms and handbag plaques.
By 1937, they began crafting jewellery under the "Monet" name. Known for refined craftsmanship, enduring triple plating, and occasional use of premium materials like sterling silver, Monet also partnered with high-fashion designers such as Yves Saint Laurent and Christian Lacroix during the 1980s.
