A day in Rambervillers vintage oil painting
oil on board, signed Robert Tavernier (lower left), Rambervillers 1935 (lower right).
This oil painting depicts a quiet, sunlit street scene in the French village of Rambervillers in the Vosges department.
It features traditional pastel coloured houses with characteristic orange-tiled roofs nestled beside a tall church steeple. It depicts the steeple of the English Sainte-Libaire (1st martyr of Lorraine) built in 15th and 16th centuries.
A large, leafy tree frames the left side of the scene, adding depth to the urban landscape.
The artwork uses a textured, painterly style with a warm colour palette to capture the atmosphere of the village.
