A fabulous slice of vintage salon glamour, this retro hairdresser artwork celebrates the era of the iconic bouffant hairstyle — the ultimate symbol of beauty, confidence, and unapologetic femininity. During the 1960s, stars such as Dolly Parton, Priscilla Presley, and Brigitte Bardot made these larger-than-life hairstyles legendary, proving that bigger really was better.
The bouffant was all about height, volume, and drama. Achieved through backcombing, rollers, teasing combs, and generous clouds of hairspray, these sculptural styles became a defining look of the decade. Salon shelves were lined with lacquer sprays promising gravity-defying hold, while weekly appointments to “set” the hair became part of many women’s beauty rituals.
