Au Fidèle Berger antique label

£20

One of a kind. When it’s gone, it’s gone.

The piece

France. Circa 1910

diam 16 cm

Beautiful original sweet box labels- round with a vista of the Grand Casino Vichy (now called Palais des Congrès-Opéra). It was built under Napoleon III in the style called "Beaux Arts" and inaugurated in 1865. The opera was added in 1901. This label would have originally been created square and cut to size to fit round boxes.

Au Fidèle Berger in Vichy was a confectioner "confiseur" shop founded in Vichy in 1863, typical of the Belle Epoque. It now is a brasserie and tea room.
