Oil painting "trunks and poles" by C.J Gregory

£85.00

Trunks and Poles (circa 1970) – A rhythmic arrangement of vertical forms, balancing abstraction with observation in a subtle interplay of sizes and colours.

oil on board 30x 23cm, framed in a multicoloured gold, marron and grey frame (looks like it has been used by the artist to display work at the RA) 45x 37.5 cm

Christopher John Gregory, known for his sensitive depictions of the English landscape and his submissions to the Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions.

Working variously from his home studios in Woodham Walter and Bassets, Gregory captured the quiet poetry of rural and industrial scenes through bold brushwork and a muted, modernist palette. Each piece is signed and dated on the reverse, offering a glimpse into his distinctive vision of post-war Britain.
