Ruskin Pottery Blue and Golden Crystalline Glazed Tripod Bowl

£140.00

Feature

ONE OF A KIND

A beautiful and unusual Ruskin Pottery tripod bowl, displaying a captivating combination of soft powder blue, rich cornflower blue and warm golden ochre glazes.

From the Arts and craft period , circa 1915-20

Stamped twice underneath Ruskin England

The shallow, gently flared bowl features delicate, radiating streaks of colour and subtle crystalline effects, creating an almost ethereal, watercolour-like appearance. The glaze flows beautifully from the centre towards the rim, where golden tones mingle with the blues to wonderful effect.

Raised on three elegant, sculptural feet, the bowl has a striking and distinctive profile. The underside is equally attractive, with a wonderfully mottled blue and golden glaze, and bears Ruskin Pottery marks.

About Ruskin Pottery

Ruskin Pottery was founded in 1898 in Smethwick, Staffordshire, by Edward R. Taylor and was run by his son, William Howson Taylor. Named in honour of the influential artist, writer and social thinker John Ruskin.

Ruskin Pottery was renowned for its innovative glazes, earning international acclaim. When the pottery closed in 1935, its secret glaze recipes were deliberately destroyed, making original pieces especially collectable. This elegant tripod bowl beautifully showcases Ruskin’s distinctive artistry.
