La Parisienne By Irene Lussou
Signed and numbered bronze with red and gold patina.
Height: 35 cm
Lussou is a self taught artist, who always wanted to be a sculptor. She lives and works near Paris.
She worked in the cinema and theatre as a makeup artist and also for an animal sculptor Marc Boulay for the Cite des Sciences et de l’industrie in Paris. Her jobs helped her translate the human anatomy and create poetic figures.
Here the Parisienne was created as a symbol of fleeing the recession. The dress is made by molding large leaves and gives an impression of lightness and speed.
Lussou exhibits and sells around the globe-such as in China. Germany, Dubai and in France. Her work can also be found in private collections as far as India and Saudi Arabia.
