Floral red point paper
Point paper from the famous Bianchini-Ferier archive, Lyon, France, circa 1970’s.
hand painted very fine original point paper with hand written detail on the reverse. Sold framed in a black frame.
Point paper like these were used to translate a drawing of a woven textile pattern before they were woven into a jacquard loom. The technicians weaving would then translate these into weaving cards that were placed on the loom. This gorgeous sinuous pattern would most certainly have been for a furnishing fabric. The colours are so stunning and vibrant.
